Birdwatching along the Maribyrnong River

Birdwatching Walk – 7 October, 12.30–1.30pm

Join VU ornithologist Dr Wouter van Dongen for a guided birdwatching walk along the Maribyrnong River. During this one-hour tour, you'll explore the impressive diversity of birdlife found around our VU campus and learn how to identify local species. Binoculars will be provided.

Bird Twitchathon – 13 October, 12.30–1.30pm

Join Dr Wouter van Dongen for our first VU thrive* Bird Twitchathon: a race to identify as many bird species as possible within one hour. Twitchathons are popular with birdwatchers around the world, testing your ability to spot and identify a wide variety of birds under time pressure. This faster-paced session suits participants with at least some birdwatching experience (for example, those who've already joined a thrive* birdwatching walk).
