Sport Awards
Victoria University (VU) has a long-standing tradition of excellence in sporting performance, participation and contribution.
Each year, the VU Sport Awards celebrates the outstanding achievements of our student athletes and recognises performances of the highest calibre. The Awards also provide an important opportunity to acknowledge exceptional service to sport within the University community, including the contributions of our affiliated clubs, teams and individuals.
2026 VU Sport Awards
Victoria University's outstanding athletes, teams and sporting contributors will be recognised this November at the annual VU Sport Awards. The awards will be held at the Western Grounds Function Centre at Whitten Oval on Thursday 12 November 2026. Whitten Oval is the home of our major partner, the Western Bulldogs.
Throughout our history, VU students have represented Australia on some of the world's biggest sporting stages, including the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and World University Games. In 2026, athletes have continued to excel across a remarkable year of international sport, highlighted by the Commonwealth Games, Winter Olympic Games and World Cup.
The VU Sport Awards provide an opportunity to celebrate these achievements while also recognising the dedication of our representative athletes, sporting clubs, volunteers and community members who help create a thriving sporting culture at VU.
We look forward to welcoming students, staff, alumni, club members and special guests as we come together to celebrate another successful year of sport at Victoria University.

Victoria University Sport Hall of Fame
Established in 2002, the VU Sport Hall of Fame honours alumni who have made outstanding contributions to sport. Over the years, 20 exceptional graduates have been inducted, with one new member added annually at the Victoria University Sport Awards.
Inductees represent a wide range of sporting fields. While many are celebrated athletes, the Hall of Fame also recognises influential coaches, administrators, and officials. All inductees must be retired from their sporting careers at the time of nomination.
VU is proud of the achievements of our Hall of Fame members and looks forward to welcoming more distinguished alumni in the years ahead.
