Overview

This unit of study will focus on fundamental theory and intervention practices of a range of therapeutic paradigms relevant to counselling. Students will enhance their counselling skills and strengthen case formulation skills through class activities and assessment tasks.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Appraise the fundamental theories and intervention practices of a range of counselling therapeutic paradigms;
  2. Develop case formulations as they relate to therapeutic paradigms relevant to counselling;
  3. Apply and demonstrate advanced skills in case formulation and intervention plans; and
  4. Participate in an academic community through reflective and critical engagement and understanding of principles of academic integrity.
