Social work
The Social Work Unit’s teaching and research is based in an inclusive, critically informed approach which emphasises empowering people and changing social structures. This approach carries a dual function of social care and social change. Social care requires that people's immediate physical, social and emotional needs be addressed while social change requires collective work towards social transformation.
