Expand your skills in creative writing and workshop your ideas with industry experts at Victoria University Polytechnic.

Taught by industry experts, this short course will help you to begin your own creative writing text or to review an already existing piece of your own work. Under expert guidance, you will refine your writing techniques, including development of plot and setting as well as creating strong characterisation.

Upon completion of this course you will have built your skills in:

  • development of ideas
  • building characters
  • working with plot
  • how to write a stronger dialogue
  • developing setting & description
  • wrapping it up.

Marie writes for adults as well as children and has been shortlisted for a number of fiction and non-fiction awards. She has had work on The Age bestsellers list and her most recent title was a ‘Notable’ picture book in the Children’s Book Council awards and was also read on Playschool.

She reviews children’s books, runs a manuscript assessment service and has had her writing appear in Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, Magpies Magazine as well as Buzz Words and Antipodean Sci Fi.
