Taught by industry experts, this short course will help you to begin your own creative writing text or to review an already existing piece of your own work. Under expert guidance, you will refine your writing techniques, including development of plot and setting as well as creating strong characterisation.
Upon completion of this course you will have built your skills in:
- development of ideas
- building characters
- working with plot
- how to write a stronger dialogue
- developing setting & description
- wrapping it up.
VU Polytechnic Alumna, Demet won the Young Adults prize for Living on Hope Street at the 2018 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. Since completing the Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing at VU Polytechnic, she has written two award-nominated novels.
Her writing has appeared in Griffith REVIEW, Island magazine, The Age Epicure, The Big Issue and From the Outer.
This course will allow you to begin working on your own creative writing text or to review a piece of work you have already started. You will be taught by industry experts and learn how to refine your writing techniques, including plot and setting development and creating strong characterisation.
Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course.
Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.
