Tien is a final-year PhD student at Victoria University Business School and a Vice-President (Research) for Victoria University Postgraduate Association (VUPA).  She specialises in mixed methods research design. Her research focuses on tourism, cruise tourism impacts, marketing, and community.

Tien has had more than 10 years of working experience in the tourism industry and at university in Vietnam. She has experience teaching marketing and tourism units such as Marketing Management, Tourism Marketing, and Service Marketing. She has presented her research output at prestigious academic conferences in Australia and Vietnam.
