Successful completion earns you a place in the second year in one of these specialised courses:
- Bachelor of Education Studies: to lead learning programs outside the traditional classroom
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education: to teach and care for children from birth to five years
- Bachelor of Arts: choose to study fine art, communication, digital media, history, sociology and more.
After completing additional requirements, you will also be eligible for:
- Bachelor of Education (P-12): to teach all age groups – from prep to Year 12
- Bachelor of Education (Primary): to teach in primary schools.

This all-rounder degree will equipt you to confidently teach maths, science and English. You can also choose to focus on a particular passion, that matches your own interests.

Not sure where you'd like to specialise? VU's Bachelor of Education (P-12) will allow you to qualify as both a primary and secondary school teacher, so you can teach at any school level.
The only program of its kind in Australia, you'll study core primary teaching subjects. You'll also have the opportunity to specialise in a subject that matches your own passions and interests.
You'll graduate work-ready with 103 days of work experience – that’s more than the 80 days required by the VIT.
Our Master of Teaching (Primary Education) will prepare you to teach in all areas of the primary curriculum. You'll gain extensive professional experience through supervised workplace learning, undertake practical research and have the opportunity to pursue specialist studies in literacy, numeracy and science.

Our Master of Applied Teaching (Secondary Education) is open to students from groups that are underrepresented in the teaching profession*. This program prepares you to register as a teacher in your area(s) of choice, and focuses on hands-on learning in schools.
*To be eligible you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background, or Indigenous background.
