Health, Engineering and Science

In the Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science, learning is based on solving real problems through innovative Problem Based Learning. We pride ourselves on giving you sound scientific training from leading educators. The Faculty gives you knowledge and training in:

  • biomedical, paramedic, nutrition, food and health sciences
  • osteopathy, dermal and nutritional therapies
  • architectural, civil, mechanical, building, electrical and electronic engineering
  • science specialisation in biotechnology, chemistry, and ecology and environmental management
  • nursing and midwifery

Research

Our faculty-based research teams focus on world-class Research & Development (R&D) in environment, fire safety and risk engineering, wireless and network engineering, micro-electronics and nano-electronics, telecommunications, polymers, food, and packaging.

Problem Based Learning

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a method of teaching and learning based on situations likely to occur in industry or a profession. We actively promote PBL as an effective tool in developing critical thinking skills to resolve engineering and other problems in the real world.
