Our hospitality students get hands on experience at our purpose-built training restaurant, VenU. Training is also delivered through our partnerships with Academy Sofitel and Le Cordon Bleu.
VU is a recognised leader in training, winning national awards for Hospitality and Tourism Provider of the year multiple times.

Academy Sofitel

Putting the squeeze on a career in Hospitality
Sofitel Melbourne, one of Victoria’s leading five star hotels, provides a range of support for Victoria University students studying hospitality courses, including prizes, training opportunities and a strategic articulation agreement between the Trades College and the Academy Sofitel.
Our courses include:
Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
Advanced Diploma of Hospitality
The hotel also supports the our hospitality research activities and has been a case study for various school publications.
Le Cordon Bleu
In partnership with Le Cordon Bleu, we offer the Associate Degree in Culinary Management. This course delivers high quality, internationally recognised culinary training – developing executive chefs and culinary managers for employment in Australia and across the Asia Pacific region.
At this stage this course is only available to international students. We plan to admit Australian students into the programs in the next 12 months.
VenU restaurant

VenU dining area
VenU Restaurant is the new hospitality training restaurant at Victoria University. It is fitted with state of the art cooking facilities and can seat 100 guests.
VenU is where students train for certificates in Restaurant Operations, Commercial Cookery, and Kitchen Operations, and diplomas and advanced diplomas in Hospitality Management.
