Overview

Kick start your Australian career in sport with Victoria University in partnership with the Western Bulldogs Football Club.

You will learn and gain skills and knowledge required to gain various exciting employment roles in the sports industry or pursue further studies by our highly skills qualified teachers between our Footscray Park Campus and Whitten Oval, home of the Western Bulldogs.

Topics include:

  • business risk
  • training and recovery
  • sports psychology
  • talent identification.

During your studies, you will:

  • gain access to elite high performance staff and mentors

  • immerse yourself in the club with exclusive insights to events, community activations, facility operations, fan engagement and match-day protocols

Course structure

The course structure comprises the following core and elective units. These electives have been selected based on industry needs, graduate pathways and/or student and teacher feedback.
To be awarded SIS50321 Diploma of Sport, a student must complete a total of fourteen (14) units comprising of: • 3 core units • 11 elective units, consisting of: - at least 9 units from the electives below, up to 2 elective units can be selected from elsewhere in the SIS Training Package, or from any other current Training Package or accredited course.
VU offers the following specialisation: Diploma of Sport (Sport Development)
To be awarded SIS50321 Diploma of Sport (Sport Development), a student must complete a total of fourteen (14) units comprising of: • 3 core units • 11 elective units, consisting of:- at least 9 units from the electives listed in the training package, including all Group C electives (4 units) must be selected for award of the Diploma of Sport (Sport Development), up to 2 elective units can be selected from elsewhere in the SIS Training Package, or from any other current Training Package or accredited course.
