Overview

This unit is the second of two units designed to provide students with experience in planning, conducting, analysing and reporting a thesis in an area of specialisation relevant to Clinical or Community Psychology. Students will work with a thesis supervisor to undertake and report on a research project, in the form of an 8,000 word manuscript suitable for submission to a peer reviewed journal.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Implement appropriate methods to collect and analyse data;
  2. Interrogate complex information, and synthesise a range of conceptual information and empirical data to draw defensible conclusions;
  3. Conduct an independent research project under supervision with a high level of personal autonomy and accountability; and
  4. Distil ideas and persuasively communicate research findings to an academic audience.
