This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to install and manage a server. It includes the ability to conduct initial configuration and testing, administration, software distribution and updates, profiling and troubleshooting.
It applies to individuals with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) skills, involved in network management, server administration and similar roles.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce & extend knowledge and skill competence within set & controlled parameters in accordance with each unit’s learning outcomes & performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines.
