About the multi-sport program

Monday: Games & activities

The Games and activities day will keep participants on their feet all day. Expect to participate in team-based problem-solving games such as capture the flag, scavenger hunts, tower building, walk the plank or traditional games such as block soccer, poison ball, keepings off and tag.

Tuesday: Court sports

Join us for a fun-filled day participating in court-based sports. Examples include: basketball, netball, futsal and dodgeball. Practise the fundamentals of these sports, and play small-sided games and round robins, while learning or refining skills along the way.

Wednesday: Olympic sports

Our Olympic sports day will introduce participants to traditional Olympic sports such as track and field events, aquatics, components of gymnastics, variations of softball/baseball and more! Our Olympics day will be fun-filled, challenging and filled with plenty of cheering along the way.

Thursday: Field sports

Our field sports will be jam packed with fun, refining and learning new skills in AFL, touch rugby and soccer. Enjoy small-sided games and round robins, as well as drills and skills-based sessions throughout the day.

Friday: Games & activities

This will keep participants on their feet all day. Expect to participate in team-based problem-solving games such as capture the flag, scavenger hunts, tower building, walk the plank or traditional games such as block soccer, poison ball, keepings off and tag.

Activities

By the end of the week your kids will have a new spring in their step!

Your child will be placed with players of a similar age and skill level. They will develop sport-specific and other life skills across a range of new and traditional sports.

Your kids will:

  • learn fundamental motor skills crucial to ball sports and activities
  • practise and refine their skills through a variety of drills and games
  • learn how to play team-sports such as:
    • dodge-ball
    • futsal
    • handball
    • netball
    • soccer
    • basketball
  • improve their general fitness and confidence.

Pool activities

We'll break up the day and have some fun in the Footscray Park Aquatic & Fitness Centre pool. Your kids can play on the inflatable obstacle course and take part in water-based activities.

Trained lifeguards will be on duty at all times.

All children are required to complete a water survival challenge to assess their competency in the pool. Life jackets are available for children who are not deemed competent in the water survival challenge.

Please note: only children who are competent in the water survival challenge will be allowed on the inflatable.

What to bring

To get set for a week of activities, your child will need:

  • runners
  • shorts
  • t-shirt
  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • water bottle
  • bathers
  • towel
  • thongs
  • snacks
  • healthy lunch.

Costs

  • $250 for full-week programs
  • $58.50 per single day
  • $9 aftercare per child, per day

Location

Our multi-sport holiday program is located in the Footscray Park Aquatic & Fitness Centre, Building L, Level 0.

Please meet at at Building L, Level 1, basketball courts.

All activities happen within our high-quality facilities which form part of the University’s elite sport and exercise precinct. Our facilities include:

  • ovals located at the entrance to the sport & exercise precinct
  • two indoor basketball courts
  • two multi-purpose courts
  • indoor 25m x 25m heated swimming pool.
