Overview

Prepare yourself for a career in construction or refresh your knowledge by completing the Enter and work in confined spaces CONISS014 short course at Victoria University.

This one day course will cover:

  • planning and preparing for work in confined spaces
  • safely entering, working in, and exiting confined spaces
  • identifying hazards and implementing control measures
  • understanding the different types of confined spaces
  • selecting and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • testing and monitoring the atmosphere within confined spaces
  • complying with entry permit requirements and completing maintenance records.

Under the guidance of experienced specialists, you will receive hands-on training using purpose-built facilities.

You will engage with various scenarios you can counter in the construction industry and gain in-depth knowledge of confined spaces, safety hazards, and the necessary equipment.

This course is delivered over one day at our Werribee campus, from 8am–4pm (arrival time 7.45am).

Entry requirements

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course.

Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.

After successfully completing CONISS014 Enter and work in confined space, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for the nationally accredited unit: RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces.
