Course Objectives

This qualification is designed to provide qualified plumbing service tradespersons with the skills and knowledge to work as an independent contractor in the plumbing industry in the following streams:

  • Plumbing and Services - Operations
  • Air Conditioning and Mechanical Services
  • Units and electives

    Air conditioning and mechanical services stream To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in: 15 units of study:

    • 8 core units
    • 7 elective units.

    Plumbing and services - Operations stream To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in: 15 units of units:

    • 12 core units
    • 3 elective units.

    What's a unit?

    A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

    Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

    3. As part of the application you may need to complete extra requirements such as:
      • submit supplementary forms
      • attend an interview, audition, information session or workshop
      • submit a folio
      • sit a test

      You need to complete all extra requirements by the given dates, otherwise your application may not be considered.
