Discover how leadership impacts human experience at work and beyond with the Leadership unit at Victoria University. You will study the various approaches, styles and principles of leadership.


You will learn:

  • the importance of indispensable technical skills such as Emotional Intelligence when dealing with people

  • how to create a compelling vision and values in leading and inspiring people.

  • leadership resilience from exemplary leaders on and how they handle stress, setbacks and manage through the turbulence in times of uncertainty

  • to design your personal authentic leadership plan


You will develop knowledge and capability in being an authentic resilient leader to lead people in the modern organisation.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Critically review leaders and leadership styles, approaches and principles;
  2. Reflect on and strategise how to mobilise yourself as a leader to inspire others;
  3. Analyse and debate complex and uncertain business contexts and consider how to lead with emotional intelligence; and,
  4. Determine and communicate organisation vision and goals using leadership hack thinking.
