Emily Gannaway's inspiring study tour to Reggio Emilia in Italy provided her with perspectives that are unique to an international learning experience.

"The Reggio Emilia tour inspired me in a way that no other experience could. It’s one thing to read theory about an education approach: it’s another thing to immerse yourself in it. The connections I made there were so valuable. Through workshops with the collaborative and creative community, my own philosophies were shifted. I also had the chance to explore Italy – something I will be forever grateful for!

The first-hand knowledge and experience I gained on the study tour has made me more grounded in my studies. I have a greater interest in learning because I have a deeper understanding of the practical context. I have been inspired to incorporate Reggio Emilia techniques into my current teaching placement and I hope to one day work in a Reggio Emilia early childhood centre when I complete my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
