Although he's a long way from his family and friends, Pratik Shakya “feels like home” at Victoria University (VU) Sydney.

“The friendly student service support team and learning support staff are always ready to guide us whenever there is a problem,” he says.
Pratik chose to study the Bachelor of Information Technology at VU Sydney because of VU’s strong international reputation and graduate career outcomes.

Upon his graduation in 2020, Pratik says he hopes to become a professional in web/mobile app development and ICT management – a dream he says will become a reality thanks to VU’s focus on practical learning and state-of-the-art facilities.
“The course is not only theory related but there are lots of practical elements, and the campus is equipped with latest technologies such as CISCO routers and switches, Amazon cloud servers and virtualisation infrastructure so we can familiarise with industrial technologies.
“Above all, the professors share their knowledge and expertise to prepare us for the workforce.”
