How to redeem your discount
Learn how to access VU Vouchers, choose a campus and redeem a voucher.
Before you start, review the VU Voucher eligibility requirements in the ‘About this initiative’ section below. If you believe you should have access but cannot use the app, log a support request through the VU Support Hub self-service portal.
1. Connect to VU's WiFi
- Connect to the eduroam WiFi
2. Open VU Vouchers
- Open the VU App.
- Select the ‘VU Vouchers’ card. You’ll be redirected to the VU Vouchers app.
- Select ‘Sign In’.
3. Sign in
- Enter your username, for example: s1234567@live.vu.edu.au.
- Select ‘Log in’.
- Enter your password and select ‘Submit’.
- Follow the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) prompts to complete your login.
4. Accept the privacy statement
The first time you sign in:
- Review VU’s Privacy Collection Statement and scroll to the bottom.
- Select the acknowledgement checkbox to confirm you have read and understood it.
- Select ‘Continue to Vouchers’.
5. Choose your campus
- Choose the campus you’re visiting to see its available vouchers.
6. Choose a voucher
- Select the ‘$10 off’ voucher.
- When you’re ready to pay, select ‘Redeem’.
Note: The voucher expires after 5 minutes. If it expires, you can redeem it again.
7. Show the voucher to staff
- Show your voucher to the cafe staff member.
- When they’re ready to process it, select ‘Continue’.
- The staff member can then select ‘Staff Claim’ to finalise the redemption.
8. Cancel if you change your mind
If you decide not to use the allocated voucher:
- Select ‘Back’ or the ‘X’ in the top-right corner.
- Select ‘Confirm’ to cancel the voucher.
9. Redeem your voucher
When you’re ready to redeem the voucher and pay:
- Select ‘Redeem’.
- Show your voucher to the cafe staff member.
- When they’re ready, select ‘Continue’.
- The staff member selects ‘Vendor Redeem’, then ‘Staff Claim’ to complete the redemption.
- Select ‘Done’ to close the success message.
10. View redeemed vouchers and sign out
- Your claimed vouchers are saved in the ‘Redeemed Vouchers’ section of your dashboard.
- Select ‘Sign Out’ to exit VU Vouchers.
11. Change campus next time
Next time you use the app, you’ll be taken to the last location you chose (step 5). You can change this in the drop-down menu on the dashboard. To use vouchers at another campus:
- Open the ‘Campus’ dropdown and select another campus to see available vouchers from participating cafes.
- That campus will then become the default campus displayed on subsequent visits.
