Taido (躰道, "the way of the mind and body") is a martial art from Japan created in 1965 by Seiken Shukumine. It has evolved from its karate roots to incorporate simultaneous defensive/offensive movements.
Taido techniques rely on body axis changes and flexible footwork, and draws on the Japanese tradition of developing body and mind as one. Along with strength, stamina, body control, and flexibility, taido teaches us about strategy, confidence, resilience, and focus.
We are a friendly community who regularly come together in international workshops and competitions. We provide intensive and comprehensive training in a relaxed atmosphere – in taido you will find a new family who will help you grow!
