Overview

The Registered Electrical Contractor (REC) course is designed to provide Grade A electricians with specialist business knowledge and skills to assist in gaining a REC Licence with Energy Safe Victoria (ESV).

Short course dates and times:

25 February - 1 March 2019 8.30am-4.30pm Full-time (5 days)
5 March - 4 April 2019 5.30pm-9.30pm Part-time (Tuesday & Thursday nights)
13-17 May 2019 8.30am-4.30pm Full-time-time (5 days)
25-29 June 2019 8.30am-4.30pm Full-time-time (5 days)

Areas of study include:

  • preparation and development of business plans
  • current compliance policies
  • regulatory obligations for electrical contracting businesses.

Course contents

In order to be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency(s), within the VET Non-Award Course TNREC Registered Electrical Contractor (REC), a student must successfully undertake the following unit(s):

CORE UNITS

Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Credit Transfers

Previous completion of units at the Polytechnic or any other Registered Training Organisation and/or previous attainment of skills and knowledge may be credited towards this course.

The course is designed to up-skill the electrical workforce to current specialist skills to gain a REC Contractors Licence with Energy Safe Victoria.

Admission requirements

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course.

Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.
