Overview

Learn how to provide advanced first aid, resuscitation and oxygen therapy for emergency situations in your workplace or community, with this short course at Victoria University (VU).

This course builds on the knowledge and skills gained in the unit Provide First Aid (HLTAID011).

It is valuable training for anyone acting as a first aid officer in the workplace or community, whether in a paid or voluntary role.

The course has a strong practical focus. You will complete online learning and assessments before attending a day of hands-on training on campus.

By the end of the program, you will have a solid understanding of how to:

respond to first aid emergencies using oxygen resuscitation equipment
manage patient care until an ambulance arrives.

The course is delivered in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
