Overview

Practise your skills for your electrical licence exam, with the Licence Electrical Practice (LEP) Tutorial (THACV)  at Victoria University.

This course is for electrical apprentices who have completed the Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and need to prepare for the Licence Electrical Practice (LEP) assessment.

It will help you work towards the electrical licence issued by the Energy Safety Victoria (ESV), which is needed to apply for jobs in the industry.

During the tutorial program, you'll revise the Australian Standards and Regulations for a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician. 

Topics include:

  • wiring and testing electrical items 
  • identifying visual defects
  • installation testing
  • wiring and Safety Standards and regulations.

This course is part of a suite of short courses developed in consultation with Energy Safe Victoria to improve licence-test pass rates. VU is an approved provider of these programs. If you haven't completed your Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, you can apply with written approval from Energy Safe Victoria.
 

Entry requirements

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course.

Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.

Participants receive a Certificate of Participation for THACV Licence Electrical Practice (LEP) Tutorial, of completion of attendance.

Class times

This course is delivered over 3 days on campus. Tutorial times: 8am–4.30pm
