VU Library staff were recognised for their outstanding contribution and service with the 2022 Library Awards.

Congratulations to the recipients, and thank you to VU staff and students for submitting nominations to recognise Library staff for their outstanding contribution or service.

Outstanding Contribution Award

Winner: Meg Weller, Librarian, Scholarly Information Services

The award recognises outstanding and sustained contribution to VU learning, teaching or research support, or to a specific project. Meg Weller has made a positive impact on education units – finding resources, knowing her way around VU Collaborate, ‘peppering’ readings for students to access, and being genuinely happy to assist teaching staff. She also provided excellent support for the Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education (GCTE) units, a special GCTE project and GCTE units in the block design and development process.

Service Award

Winner: Tracey Atkins, Library Officer, Information Resources & Collection Services

The award recognises outstanding customer service. Tracey works for Information Resources & Collection Services, the Library team responsible for collection purchase, description and management. Throughout unexpected lockdowns, she worked alone onsite every day to receive deliveries of physical items, scan and process the items, and look after invoices and inter-departmental transfer of items. She performed a much needed role to ensure particular library operations continued to support learning, teaching and research at VU.
