CESARE Fire Testing Research

Fire research testing

The Centre for Environmental Safety and Risk Engineering (CESARE) carries out research on the spread of smoke and fire in buildings, fire extinguishment and the way structures respond to fire.

Our academic and research staff have experience in areas of structural behaviour and design, heat transfer, mechanical systems, human behaviour in fire, risk assessment and management and detection systems.

There is increasing regulatory and market pressure to design environmentally sustainable buildings. In response to this, CESARE has established an active research group that works in the area of sustainable architecture.
