In this unit students will be introduced to the principles of contemporary business. Students will explore the nature of business, the role of business and type of business structures (including online business) in Australia. Students will explore a number of external and internal factors (economic, legal, environmental, social and ethical) on business decision making as well as the impact of globalisation. Students will also be introduced to business marketing. Students will question, investigate and actively reflect on what constitutes effective marketing for a variety of organisations. Students will consider how different demographics influence the marketing approach utilised, and how various approaches are necessary within an overall strategy. Given a specific geographical location, students will apply the business and marketing theories and develop plans for a hypothetical business using suitable formats.
