User experience (UX) is the design of interfaces individuals and groups use to access digital services. It could be for a chatbot, a game, a touchscreen in a shopping centre or a learning management system. In this unit, we design interfaces for a range of scenarios.

We use code to implement our interfaces and explore ways of integrating technology. Students are given working projects which we configure in class. Students can choose the perspective they wish to adopt for project work and assessment (for instance, designer, marketer, technical developer, ethical hacker or educator). Underpinning our discussions are the issues of cybersecurity and trust in online environments.

Industry methodologies, such as SCRUM and agile are used to create a series of prototypes. We undertake the user testing of our work and apply insights from testing to the iterative design of our projects.
