Bruce Miller tailored his MBA to suit his career goal of starting his own business, a niche recruitment consultancy, Alex Porter Pty Ltd.
"The MBA gave me a broad cross-section of management skills and knowledge that I've applied both in general employment, and in the preparation, establishment and growth of my own business.
During my studies, I began to see the potential in establishing my own business. I began to tailor my subjects to provide specific and targeted knowledge to facilitate this. I gained a well-rounded education, which has been instrumental in the success of my business. A combination of convenient location, flexibility of learning, and the ability to incorporate applied learning throughout the courses made VU stand out. I could discuss with each lecturer what I was trying to achieve from a subject, and then used what I learnt in assignments in a practical sense.
I was also grateful to be given the opportunity to study in Reims, France, as part of an international exchange program."
