Sights set on VU

After my placement with Netball Victoria they offered me casual work, and then a full-time position.

Elise Wiggins worked hard to get into VU, citing its sporting facilities and industry partnerships as major draw cards.
“Throughout my degree, I was a sports trainer with the Women’s Western Bulldogs team, and an event host for the AFL Grand Final Centre Square Event. I also completed placements with the VWFL and Netball Victoria.
It was incredible how much I learnt during my Netball Victoria placement. My mentor was the Operations Manager and she gave me a lot of responsibility, so I had to learn quickly. I was a back-of-house assistant at Melbourne Vixens games and completed tasks like time synchronisation, and court and change-room set-up.
After my placement, Netball Victoria offered me casual work, and then a full-time position. I started off in an administrative role, and soon became a high performance assistant. I was recently promoted to partnerships coordinator.
VU puts an emphasis on industry experience – and getting involved early is honestly the best thing I ever did. My placements were invaluable in allowing me to make key contacts earlier rather than later.”
