Music industry mogul

While at VU, Jaddan Comerford started a small music business. Today that company is called UNIFIED. It has an annual revenue of more than $7 million and represents the likes of Vance Joy, Amy Shark, and The Amity Affliction.

I got a great education at VU – particularly on the business side. The music industry is very creative and not always focused on the technical side of business, so completing this degree was very helpful.

At VU I was able to connect with Ian James, who runs Mushroom Music, after he gave a guest lecture for one of my subjects. He was one of the first people in the music industry to give me the time of day and we work together to this day.

I started my first company in 2001 and we now have offices in Melbourne, Sydney, LA and London. I’m proud to say that UNIFIED is one of Australia’s fastest growing independent music companies. We’ve signed some game-changing artists including Vance Joy, Amy Shark, Violent Soho, Illy, and The Amity Affliction.

Right now I’m based in LA and oversee 35 staff worldwide. My goal is to keep growing my business on a global level.
