VU’s industry connections, internship opportunities and supportive teaching staff helped Kelsie Cafarella find her career calling.

I spent my early twenties worrying that I’d never figure out what I actually wanted to do. Eventually I took a risk and returned to study at VU – and it was the best decision I could’ve made. With the help of the course coordinator, I can now see the opportunities awaiting me, but without VU I would still be wandering around, lost. This is my greatest career achievement so far – finally finding my path in life.

VU is a friendly, innovative and on-trend place – I always felt like I was learning skills that made me employable. During my studies I undertook an internship at a web and marketing agency. The business was growing and evolving at the same time I was, so I was able to apply current industry practices I learnt in class to the workplace.

After my internship I was offered a part-time role as a Digital Content Developer and Researcher, with the possibility of full-time work as the business expands. My goal is to hone and build my new skills so that I can continue to move forward in my career.
