Elite Sport & Performer Program Scholarships

Scholarship categories

Elite Achievement Scholarship – $3,500

Awarded to student-athletes and performers who have reached the highest levels of competition or performance and demonstrated outstanding achievement in their discipline.

Selection criteria includes: 

• Current representation at an international, professional, national league, or equivalent elite level
• Significant sporting or performance achievements within the last 12 months
• Demonstrated excellence at major events, competitions, performances or championships
• Commitment to balancing elite pursuits with university studies
• Positive ambassador for Victoria University and the Elite Sport and Performer Program
• Contribution to their sport, performance discipline or community

Emerging Talent Scholarship – $1,500

Awarded to student-athletes and artistic performers who are competing or performing at a high level and are showing strong potential to progress to senior international, professional or world-level competition.

Selection criteria includes: 

• Current representation at national, age-group international or development squad level
• Selection within a recognised high-performance or talent development pathway
• Recent achievements demonstrating progression towards the highest levels of their discipline
• Clear potential for future elite success based on performance and development trajectory
• Strong commitment to training, competition, performance and personal development
• Active engagement with the Elite Sport and Performer Program

Opportunity & Access Scholarship – $1,500

Supporting student-athletes and performers who compete at an elite level and may face barriers that impact their ability to participate and succeed in both their sporting/performance and academic pursuits.

Selection criteria includes:

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background
• Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background
• Challenging family or personal circumstances
• Financial hardship or disadvantage
• Regional, rural, or remote background
• Disability, or participation in para-sport
• Chronic illness, or medical condition

Academic & Leadership Excellence Scholarship – $1,500

Recognising students who demonstrate excellence in their studies while making a positive leadership contribution within their sport, performance discipline, university or community. 

Selection criteria includes: 

• Strong academic performance and commitment to learning
• Demonstrated leadership within a team, organisation, club or community
• Positive contribution to the Victoria University community
• Mentoring, volunteering or advocacy activities
• Ability to balance academic and elite commitments effectively
