Credit for skills & past study

We are committed to recognising the wealth of knowledge you bring with you when you enrol at VU.

If you have already studied a unit, or have had equivalent work or life experience, we believe you shouldn't have to attend a class to learn it all over again. Having your skills and study recognised can save you valuable time and money.

You can apply for credit in recognition of previous study, work skills and past experience via several methods.

Higher education students can apply for credit (advanced standing). Units can be credited if they are part of the course structure for the course you are applying for. Please note that credits relating to prior VU subjects are automatically granted and no further action is required.

TAFE students can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This also includes Recognition of Current Competence (RCC) and credit transfer.
