Yolanda is a lecturer in Early Childhood Education with experience supporting pre-service teachers across professional practice and placement education. 

She is the Co-Convenor for ECE6012 Professional Practice 1 and the Unit Convenor for ECE6013 Professional Practice 2, where she supports students in successfully preparing for and completing their professional placements. Her role involves guiding students through placement expectations and assessment requirements, as well as communicating and collaborating closely with mentor teachers and early childhood settings to strengthen students’ professional learning experiences.

She is committed to enhancing student engagement, placement readiness, and professional practice through responsive teaching, clear communication, and supportive learning environments.

Her interests include professional practice education, student wellbeing and support, mentor partnerships, and building strong connections between universities and early childhood education settings. She is passionate about supporting pre-service teachers to develop confidence, reflective practice, and professional identity throughout their placement journey.
