If you're applying for the Elite Athlete Program, you can apply anytime.

Registration process

  1. Check your eligibility for the Elite Athlete Program.
  2. Complete and submit this online application form.
  3. Email your supporting evidence to [email protected].

Supporting evidence required

  • Sporting resumé - summarising your achievements and experiences over 12–18 months. We understand your sporting commitments may have been impacted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This will not affect your eligibility for the program. Simply tell us about the commitments you were selected to participate in during 2021 as well as your achievements in 2020.
  • Relevant documents authenticating level of sporting achievement e.g.
    • letter from relevant sporting institution or association
    • evidence of team selection, national or state rankings etc.
  • Supporting reference letter from sporting body or association confirming your level of elite involvement and your ongoing sport commitments.
  • High-resolution sport photo (action shot preferred).

You will need to submit these documents via email after completing this form.

Once you submit this form, it will be assessed by the Elite Athlete Program Coordinator.

*The deadline to receive an ATAR adjustment for 2024 is now passed.

Year 12 students who meet the criteria for the Elite Athlete Program may also be eligible for ATAR adjustment (bonus rank) for courses where ATAR is used as part of the selection process. Find out more about the eligibility criteria on the elite student athletes page. This webform also counts as your ATAR adjustment application (when open).

Please note that VU’s Bachelor of Education (P-12) is exempt from ATAR adjustment.

VU Elite Athlete Program terms & conditions

Student athletes are required to:

  • attend elite athlete functions, including elite athlete orientation/induction
  • maintain up-to-date sporting performance achievements and information via correspondence with Elite Athlete Program Coordinator
  • be in communication with your course and unit advisor to map out your course and deal with timetabling issues
  • respond to communications from Elite Athlete Program Coordinator.

Student athletes are requested to:

  • represent VU as a student-athlete ambassador from time to time
  • participate in UniSport endorsed events where possible, including Nationals
  • provide a high resolution photograph that can be used online or in print publications by the University
  • participate and promote VU’s sporting programs where possible.

As a member of the Elite Athlete Program, I agree to the following conditions:

  • I will provide VU with current, accurate information and supporting documentation
  • I am aware it is my responsibility to notify the Elite Athlete Program Coordinator of any changes in my sporting career, that may affect my status as an elite athlete
  • I am aware that it is my responsibility to keep my contact details up to date.
