- Apply knowledge of the scientific basis and mechanism of intermediate treatments to practice; and
- Evaluate risks and manage complications associated with intermediate dermal procedures.
Assessment
For Melbourne campuses
Assessment type: Test | Grade: 20%
Case Study Tests x 2 (30 mins each), completed in class and invigilated
Assessment type: Practicum | Grade: 40%
Practical Test 1 (30 mins, hurdle requirement)
Assessment type: Practicum | Grade: 40%
Practical Test 2 (30 mins, hurdle requirement)
A minimum 80% attendance is required for ORT and face-to-face workshops, which facilitate the development of student knowledge, competency, and safe practice of practical skills. These sessions provide structured guidance and opportunities to consolidate practical skills essential for competent clinical performance. Successful completion of the practicum assessments is mandatory to pass this unit and serves as a hurdle requirement, ensuring students can apply relevant treatments safely and effectively.
