Rui Li is an Academic Teaching Scholar with the First Year College. She has more than five years' teaching experience and has taught a variety of engineering units.

She was an engineer in Autocoach Pty. Ltd., researching a new generation wearable electronics device.

She has been recently working towards a PhD degree with the College of Sport, Health and Engineering, Victoria University. Her research interests include Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN), wearable technology, embedded systems, and control systems.

In addition, Rui has been working closely with the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). She conducts activities that promote a female friendly learning environment in order to produce competent female graduates at VU.
