Admitted to practice in Victoria in 1982, Michael is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Courts of the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, the Republic of Vanuatu and the High Court and Federal Court of Australia and its Territories and a Notary Public (ACT, Victoria and Vanuatu) to facilitate execution and notarisation of international documentation.

Michael is Legal Counsel accredited to the French, Belgian and Estonian Embassies and the Italian Consulate General in Melbourne.

Michael is a former President [2007 to 2009 and 2018 to 2022] and Fellow of the Society of Notaries of Victoria and Delegate for International Affairs on its Council. He is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Notaries.

Michael is a NAATI certified French↔English translator.

A former Honorary Consul of the Republic of Vanuatu, Michael was appointed Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Senegal in September 2003 and decorated by the French Government in October 1998 as a Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite, in recognition of his service to France in the legal and cultural fields including as co-founder and Executive Director of Melbourne French Theatre Inc.

Michael has been a sessional lecturer for the Professional Course in Notarial Practice at the Sir Zelman Cowen Centre at Victoria University for more than a decade and was recently appointed an Adjunct Research Fellow. He is also a casual lecturer with Bond University.
