VU congratulates partners Melbourne Victory on Grand Final win
As a proud partner of the Melbourne Victory Football Club, Victoria University congratulates the team on an outstanding win in the 2018 A-League Grand Final.
In a 1-0 win against Newcastle Jets on Saturday night, Victory created history as it became the first club in the A-League to come from below second spot to win the championship.
It was a record-breaking ninth-minute goal (the fastest ever scored in an A-League Grand Final) from Kosta Barbarouses that separated the two sides as the Victorians reigned supreme over the Jets in front of an almost 30,000-strong crowd at McDonald Jones Stadium.
The partnership between VU and Melbourne Victory was cemented in 2017 with a five-year strategic agreement that has helped strengthen VU’s reputation as leaders in sport.
The engagement sees VU provide sport science and performance support for the MVFC Academy teams and provide a range of unique learning experiences for current and prospective undergraduate and masters students, including work placement opportunities. The partnership also provides shared world-class industry expertise, research and facilities.
We look forward to another successful year of working together on and off the field in 2018 and beyond.
