Setting Sun Short Film Festival – last call for submissions
This is your last chance to enter a film into the Setting Sun Short Film Festival, with entries closing 31 January 2018.
Do you have a short film that you made between 1 December 2015 and 31 January 2018?
Is it no more than 15 minutes long?
Make VU proud and enter your mini-masterpiece into the Setting Sun Short Film Festival.
As part of VU’s sponsorship, our students can have their entry fee waived.
The festival will be held 26-30 April at the Sun Theatre Yarraville.
Competition prizes
Over $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded in a range of categories.
Take away a prize by coming out top in the following assessments:
- story – well told, fluent, good theme or subject, good structure, good dialogue
- engaging and entertaining for audience
- production values – camera technique, special effects, lighting and sound
- creativity and originality.

Apart from the female-only and secondary-school program, categories are open to everyone.
