Recognising excellence in sport
From international representatives and emerging talent to dedicated volunteers and sporting clubs, the VU Sport Awards celebrate the people who help make sport an important part of the Victoria University experience.
Each year, Victoria University students achieve success across a wide range of sports, representing their clubs, communities, Victoria and Australia on some of the biggest stages in the world. Just as importantly, countless students, volunteers, coaches and club leaders contribute to creating opportunities for others to get involved in sport and active recreation.
The 2026 VU Sport Awards, to be held on Thursday 12 November at the Western Grounds Function Centre, Whitten Oval, will bring together the VU community to recognise these achievements and contributions.
The evening will celebrate excellence across a range of categories, highlighting sporting performance, academic achievement, leadership and service to sport. Awards presented on the night will include:
- Full Blue
- Half Blue
- Rising Star Award
- Jacinta Carroll Academic and Sporting Excellence Award
- Sportsperson of the Year
- Outstanding Service Award
- Sports Team of the Year
- Team and Club Service Awards.
A highlight of the evening will be the induction of a new member into the Victoria University Sport Hall of Fame, recognising an individual whose achievements have made a lasting contribution to sport and to the VU community.
