First for the state, Victoria University approved for campus in India

In a first for the state, Victoria University (VU) today welcomed the news it has been granted a licence by the Indian government to establish a comprehensive campus in the country under the new National Education Policy (NEP).
At an event in New Delhi with the Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, VU received a Letter of Intent from India’s University Grants Commission, which officially allows VU to establish a campus as an approved Foreign Higher Education Institution.
One of the first Australian universities to seek this opportunity, Victoria University now has official planning permission to seek education partners and establish a new campus by 2027.
In an exciting growth development, VU will introduce the VU Block Model®to its plans. Internationally recognised and award-winning, the VU Block Model allows students to focus on one subject at a time over four-week blocks through interactive workshop style classes. VU was the first university in Australia to introduce this unique learning model and remains the largest university outside North America to do so.
VU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global) Monty Singh is excited about the possibility, saying "VU can progress its strong connections to India – we look forward to working alongside local partners to share knowledge, deliver industry-focused qualifications and make a real contribution to India’s National Education Policy."
Welcoming the decision, VU Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer Professor John Germov said: “We are delighted at the opportunity to share our unique VU Block Model with industry, students and teachers in India.
"We plan to work with local partners to gain insights and learnings to make sure the Block Model remains at the forefront of industry needs, and our graduates are ready to support one of the strongest economies in the world."
Victoria University plans to launch its campus in the Delhi National Capital Region and will offer undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses.
