Ramadan Iftar Dinner

The Victoria University Postgraduate Association (VUPA) warmly invites postgraduate students to join us for a special Ramadan Iftar dinner, bringing our community together in the spirit of reflection, connection and togetherness.
This evening provides an opportunity to share a meal, learn about Ramadan and connect with fellow postgraduate students in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Whether you are observing the fast or simply wish to take part and support, you are most welcome.
This event is open to all postgraduate students.
Time to arrive
Iftar dinner will begin at sunset, which is when Muslims traditionally break their fast. Please be on time, as food will be served strictly after sunset.
Buffet menu
Mains
Enjoy a variety of traditional dishes including:
- mutton karahi (spiced lamb curry)
- chicken karahi (spiced chicken curry)
- chicken biryani (fragrant chicken rice)
- lahori chana (spiced chickpeas)
- palak paneer (spinach with cottage cheese), served with naan bread.
Complementing these are fruit chaat (spiced fruit salad), dahi halwa (sweet yogurt dessert), chips, nuggets, samosas and pakoras (savory fritters).
BBQ
A selection of grilled delights including:
- tikka boti (spiced grilled meat cubes)
- malai boti (creamy marinated chicken)
- chicken kebabs
- lamb kebabs.
Drinks
Refreshing beverages including rooh afza and chai (tea).
Desserts
Sweet treats to finish the evening, including gulab jamun (sweet milk dumplings) and kheer (rice pudding).
