History tour in Footscray Park

Join a guided walking tour of Footscray Park with the Footscray Historical Society, a charity dedicated to celebrating the west's history and culture. 

Wander through this Edwardian-era park and hear the story of the community campaign that saved it, along with tales of past curators, local legends, the memorial garden, and the park's unique botanic flora. 

Open to all VU staff and students, whether you come solo or bring a friend. The tour runs 1.5–2 hours, so dress for Melbourne weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking. 

Meeting spot: Footscray Park entrance, corner of Ballarat Rd and Mills Close
Tour starts: 12noon – Give yourself plenty of time to get there on time.

Please note: If you sign up and can't attend – cancel your booking using the link in your email confirmation. People are on the waitlist hoping for a spot to free up.

Support workers are welcome at no cost. This event counts as a valid university activity, so Auslan interpreting and other access support you're already entitled to applies here too.
