23rd Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for College Students
Tune in for our yearly competition – the 23rd Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for College Students.
This competition will take place on 18 May 2024 and is hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne. Event partners include the Australian Tertiary Chinese Teachers Association and the Victoria Business Confucius Institute (VBCI) at Victoria University.

‘天下一家 one world, one family’
Competition procedure
The competition will take place at Victoria University's Footscray Park Campus. It will also be broadcast live on several platforms, so the candidates' family, friends and the audience can cheer them on. The livestream links will be provided ahead of the competition.
Each contestant will make a presentation with the topic of ‘one world one family’ for two minutes and perform in a talent show for three minutes.
Performances may include:
- singing Chinese songs
- dancing
- Chinese folk art
- playing musical instruments
- calligraphy
- drawing
- paper cutting
- martial arts performance.
The first and second place winners will go on to compete in the international Chinese Bridge Competition in China. While the third-place contestant will not compete, they will be flown over to watch the final competition as a guest.
International travel and accommodation for first, second and third place is funded by the organising committee.
