Reshaping laser regulations for the cosmetic industry in Australia
We're looking for input from all areas of cosmetic laser or intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment in Australia to help better understand the industry and gaps in legislation.
This study aims to understand:
- how informed, safe and supported customers feel when undergoing cosmetic laser procedures
- what expectations customers have about practitioner training and regulation
- the challenges, gaps and opportunities in Australia’s current laser regulation landscape.

Eligibility criteria
We're looking for individuals who:
- are 18 years or older
- are living in Australia
- received cosmetic laser treatments in Australia.
About the survey
The online survey will take approximately 6–10 minutes to complete. During the survey, you will be asked questions about:
- your treatment history
- the practitioner who conducted the treatment
- how safety information (such as potential reactions) was communicated to you
- your trust and understanding of current regulations.
All responses are anonymous, unless you choose otherwise.
