Victoria University’s Mitchell Institute and the Australian Industry Group’s Centre for Education & Training invite you to join us in celebrating the release of Rethinking Tertiary Education: Building on the Work of Peter Noonan at the official book launch on 9 November.

The time has come to address the divide between vocational and higher education and implement a reform agenda that has been in development over the last decade. Rethinking Tertiary Education brings together leading experts to provide a roadmap for this process, with a vision for a harmonised tertiary education sector fit for Australia’s needs.

The central figure in the development of this policy agenda, and on whose life’s work this book has been built, is Peter Noonan. A professor of Tertiary Education at Victoria University, he sadly passed away in 2022 after forty years as a leading tertiary education policy thinker and adviser to both sides of government. This book, and its launch, will honour the immense contribution Peter has made to tertiary education in Australia.

The Hon. Brendan O’Connor, Minister for Skills and Training, will launch this important work, with words also from the book’s editors. Following the formalities, we encourage you to join us for conversation over drinks and nibbles as we celebrate progress made, and look toward the work that still needs to be done.

Learn more about Rethinking Tertiary Education and order your copy. Books will also be available for purchase on the night.
