This unit of study includes the following components: The rules of evidence; the participants (the judge, jury, accused, witnesses and lawyers); adducing evidence; the course of evidence (examination-in-chief, cross-examination and re-examination); exclusionary rules (eg. hearsay, privilege and immunity); (vi) inclusionary rules (e.g. res gestai); exceptions to both these rules; and the development of students' skills in presenting both oral and written argument.
