Lawyers and Legal Ethics

This unit of study will examine the development of the legal profession within the Australian context and the professional divisions within the legal profession. It will consider the general ethical responsibilities of the lawyer; the duties owed by the lawyer to the law, the court, the client, fellow lawyers and the public. The focus will be on the regulation of the legal profession, the professional conduct of lawyers and the practical application of legal ethics in professional practice. This unit fulfils the COLE requirements for professional conduct.
