Constitutional Law

On this page

This is the introductory Constitutional Law subject. Constitutional Law is the law of how a country is governed. It must cover at minimum how laws are made, implemented and enforced and may also include citizenship, participation in the political process and other rights. Australia presents a particularly interesting case, being derived from a combination of the British and United States systems with unique features of its own and a century of development. As a federal system, the States each have their own constitutions too. As an introductory subject, the focus is on general concepts enabling comparison with other countries and more detailed application in Federal Constitutional Law.
